Ponta Preta - Sal, Cap Vert

Ponta Preta is a famous beach located near Santa Maria, easily accessible on foot or by transport. It is a world-class surfing and kitesurfing spot, particularly active in winter with powerful waves that can reach 4 to 6 meters. The site is sparsely developed and rarely crowded, which gives it a wild side. Conditions are ideal with easterly winds and swells coming from the northwest, offering straight (the best) and left waves on a reef break, especially at low tide. On the other hand, the strong currents, the violent shore break and the submerged rocks make it a dangerous place. 👉 It is therefore a spot mainly reserved for experienced surfers and kitesurfers.
